J Gillett is an eclectic DJ, enthusiastic promotor and talented producer – J Gillett has embraced the world of music in many ways. Mixing hip-hop, drum n bass, breaks, house, minimal or banging techno at varied venues (and fields!) across the country, he has been resident at his own nights FATSOUND and FRAGMENT and also made many guest appearances elsewhere.

Producing for 9 years through many different formats, from freeware drum machines to Reason and Acid to his current Logic 9, J Gillett has become at his most comfortable amongst beats. His ability to make deep, low frequency atmospheric noises mixed with his flawless sampling techniques and beat-mongering make each one of his tracks unique whilst still holding his own signature.

After receiving excellent feedback through Soundcloud, and having one of his tracks featured on Kosmo’s excellent ‘Vapours of dub’ compilation album. His first EP is being pushed through the new uk record label Itchy Pig Records. With praise from the likes of Ease from Nightmares On Wax, Rubberlips and 2 of Russias finest Quiet Fish and the extroadinary SPDSC this release is sure to be a big success.

Inspired by countless musical influences, from classical to techno, he started making beats from about 17.
He has always loved jazz and soul in hip-hop and he would say that he specialise in creating instrumental hip-hop, chill out and lounge music.
He also enjoys making other genres of music and have dabbled in liquid drum n bass, minimal house and techno based goods.
